After driving the five hours north, dropping off my little Ming with my wonderful son and even more wonderful daughter-in-law, and picking up my two daughters in Oviedo, we traveled east to beautiful Cocoa Beach. It was a bit cloudy with some passing showers, but that didn't dampen the spirit of these fabulous authors and other book-world people.
Space Coast Book Lovers is being held at the International Palms Resort. There are approximately 70 amazing authors, along with numerous other industry professionals and lots and lots of readers.
Tonight was the first of their scheduled activities. It was a Meet & Greet with an open bar and lots of hors d'oeuvres. Did I say "open bar"? Yes, yes, I did! And these two amazing bartenders kept the drinks flowing, including the signature drink for the night... The Tipsy Bookworm! Of course I had to taste this drink in order to properly report about it. And to be sure, I had two more. Just doing my job.
It was so much fun seeing authors and industry professionals I have met before and meeting new ones as well. While standing in line to fill our plates with the abundance of food available, we met the delightful Linzi Baxter. Linzi is a fairly new author, but from what I've seen, she is an author to watch. Lots of great reviews for her White Hat Security series that include HACKER EXPOSED, UNDERCOVER HACKER, ROYAL HACKER and more. When not at work as an IT Manager, Linzi enjoys writing action-packed romances that will take you to the edge of your seat.
I was happy to run into Evelyn Lederman and some of her friends there too! I fell in love with Evelyn's writing a couple of years ago when I started reading her Worlds Apart series, starting with THE CHAMELEON SOUL MATE and THE CRYSTAL TELEPATH. There are more in this amazing series that I'm dying to get to. And I understand she has many more books and many more series out. If you happen to be here in Cocoa Beach on Saturday, stop by her table and take a look at what she writes. You'll spot her by her cute little hats... and there will be purple somewhere near her as well!
A few more authors and industry professionals I spotted at the Meet & Greet included Lia Davis, Kerry Adrianne, Jamie Waters and Roxanne Bellamy. Although Lia and Kerry are excellent authors in thier own rights, with numerous books available, they have also teamed up on a few books lately. Such a great writing team! And meeting Roxanne was one of the highlights of my evening. Jamie and I laughed until our cheeks hurt while talking to Roxanne at our table. Such a great lady!
And when things didn't seem like they could get any better, ANOTHER Roxanne stopped by! Yes, here are the two Roxanne's: Roxanne Witherall and Roxanne Bellamy. And of course we had to break out in song... Roxanne!

Hopefully, I will have more pictures to share tomorrow. Right now, however, I'm heading to bed for a few hours of sleep before we start all over again tomorrow!
