My Review:

It's the Little Things is Book 5 in the Black Hollow series, but definitely can be read as a stand-alone. This was such a fun book to read! Who better to run the End of the Rainbow Savings & Loan than a bunch of leprechauns? And ogre's for security guards! So creative!! Actually EVERY character in this book was creative and just plain awesome! Add in a bit of a mystery regarding the pots of gold and the missing private investigator, and you have a great storyline.

This was a quick read at only around 213 pages, but it allowed for a great break from reality as I delved into this awesome fantasy world!

My Review:

This couldn't get any better!  A paranormal circus with phantoms, dwarfs, korrigans, grim reapers, banshees and more AND a murder mystery!  Ohmigosh!  This was such a creative read with a slight twist at the end that I didn't see coming.  And there was romance.  What more could I ask for?

I have to admit that this is the first book I've read in the Black Hollow series, but after reading this one I will definitely be reading more.  April's Fool was a quick read at only around 149 pages.  Thank you Robbie Cox for making this available as a free read on Kindle Unlimited.

Book Review - Sibling Rivalry (The Harper Twins - Book 1) by Robbie Cox

Title:  Sibling Rivalry (The Harper Twins - Book 1)
Author:  Robbie Cox
Genre:  Contemporary Adult Romance
Release Date:  April 13, 2015

About the Book:

Will the rules be broken?
Aimee Harper just wants her car fixed. She doesn't need her sister's kind of help, the manipulation, the sexism, the way her sister uses her body to get whatever she wants. Aimee prefers her life simple, her peaceful existence, even if she doesn't have the adventures her sister has or meets the men her sister tends to wake up with on the weekend. Yet, to battle Karla's plans, Aimee needs to go on a date with Mitch Greenway but what's confusing to her is that he actually wants to go out with her and not her seductive sister. But what about their rule?

Karla Harper can't believe her sister still hasn't learned to play the game. There's a reason women have all the power; it's because men want what's between their legs. A wink here, a wiggle of the backside there, and soon men are panting to help you accomplish your dreams. Of course, that is, until Mitch Greenway steps into the picture. No matter what Karla throws at him, the dark, powerful man still wants her timid sister. Aimee's close to breaking the rule of the twins and Karla can't believe it.

Mitch Greenway has seen plenty of women such as Karla Harper, but quiet, shy Aimee draws his eye and grabs his attention. She doesn't want to run a game on him, but rather to just enjoy the moment without her sister's interference. He's heard about their rule, the rule that states that no man can date both sisters, and he knows that Karla believes since she's already slept with him that he won't go out with Aimee. However, Karla doesn't know him, and what's more, her sister is no longer playing by Karla's rules.

My Review:

Another fun and sexy read by Robbie Cox!  SIBLING RIVALRY is a contemporary adult romance with sizzle.  Lots of sizzle.  And definitely on my “Adults Only” read list!

The Harper twins may look alike, but their personalities are worlds apart.  Karla is a bit of a free spirit who knows how to use people to her advantage, and she knows how to use her body to get men to do her bidding.  Aimee, on the other hand, is much more independent and traditional, working things out for herself... even if she has to dip into her concert money to pay for car repairs.  When Mitch, the auto mechanic, seems to prefer sweet Aimee over come-hither Karla, Karla makes her claim on Mitch and insists Aimee abide by their long-standing rule of not dating the same man.  Ahhh!  The sibling rivalry begins!

Along comes Clint, the single dad who Aimee had been fantasizing over and Karla does what Karla does to catch his eye.  Will this rivalry escalade into an all out war? Or will sisterly love prevail?

I loved how Karla's character came out when she went into sisterly-protective mode as Bonnie, Clint's soon-to-be-ex-wife shows up.  Great story line!  Can't wait to read the next two books in this series.

#BookReview - Life's Moments (3 Book Series) by Robbie Cox

Title:  Life's Moments (3 Book Series)
Author:  Robbie Cox
Genre:  Romance, Short Story
Release Date:  June 27, 2017

About the Book:

Book #1: Green is the Grass
She never should have walked down the aisle. She should have listened to her mother, instead of marrying that pompous...arrogant...selfish....

Ginny's inner struggles are real - at least for her, they are. She wants to live the lives her neighbors are living, but are they really what they seem?

Ginny Mitchell doesn't see her marriage the way everyone else does, not even her husband. All she does is clean the house, but her dreams want so much more. Ian wants her to experience life, but she only sees the negative. What will it take for her to know her lawn isn't full of weeds?

Green is the Grass is a short novelette stand alone story.

Book #2 - Waiting Room
“Lisa, wait, slow down. What accident? What are you talking about?” She listened as Terry’s sister told her about the truck flipping over and the rain-soaked road and Terry’s speeding. The brakes locked and the Camaro started spinning out of control, right into the semi that flipped. The two vehicles smashed into each other, sending Terry’s car into the ditch. She listened as Lisa rambled on, but all Donna saw was the pain on Terry’s face when he left her house that night. It’s my fault. This is all my fault. Lisa said it didn’t look good. She didn’t know the extent of his injuries, but everyone who looked at them, looked at them with pity, as if their future held a funeral.

Terry Michaels couldn't believe she was breaking up with him. Together for three years and now it was all over. His mind a jumbled chaos of emotions as he drove home, he didn't see the truck jack-knifing, didn't care that it was pouring, and drove even faster - too fast.

Now, his family, his friends, and even Donna, the girl who broke up with him, all huddle in the waiting room at Hospital General waiting to see if Terry is going to survive the accident or not. Donna wants a chance to get back with Terry, but what about all the other relationships in turmoil around them? Can't everyone just get along?

It doesn't look like it.

Waiting Room is a novelette, full story. One of Robbie's Lunch Break Reads.

Book #3 - Second Light
Lucas Stevenson feels as if he has lost it all, his girlfriend, his father, even the stray cat they found. He's not ready to lose his mother, too. Or his beach. It's his safe haven, his sanctuary, the only place left where he can still feel his father. Yet, they want to rip it all away from him.

My Review:

Life's Moments is a three-book series of thought provoking and interesting short stories, perfect for reading during your lunch break or while sitting in the waiting room at your doctor's office, each one being a quick read.

Book #1 - Green is the Grass
When I first starting reading Ginny's thoughts my mind drifted to the movie Sleeping With The Enemy.  I wanted to hate Ian.  Then the more I read I realized that Ginny was a bit off her rocker and Ian was a saint for putting up with her craziness.  As Ginny starts to have a bit of a life-awakening, I had a bit of an awakening too.  I wonder how many women assume things like that?  Women who don't really communicate with their husbands?  Life isn't always what it appears to others.

Book #2 - Waiting Room
When Terry ends up in a serious car accident from driving too fast after his girlfriend breaks up with him, his family and friends gather in the surgical waiting room, unsure of whether Terry will live or die.  That's when the realization hits each person that harsh words and actions could end up being the last thing a person could experience. Robbie Cox delivers a huge message with Waiting Room... a message that we should always treat people as if it were your last day on earth.

Book #3 - Second Light
Lucas is a young man getting ready to enter college, the next phase of his life. After a disagreement with his mom and stepdad, Lucas escapes to the only place he finds solitude.  The beach.  Here he recalls his past loves and losses.  And when his stepfather finally catches up to him, he realizes there could be new beginnings here as well.

#BookReview - Behind the Mask by Robbie Cox

Title:  Behind the Mask
Author:  Robbie Cox
Genre:  Contemporary Adult Romance, Erotica
Release Date:  October 3, 2017

About the Book:

So far, hookups in a bar were less than fulfilling. Guys picked up in bars were great for sex, but that’s all it was—sex. Emma wanted more than the normal vanilla ice cream served in careful scoops. She wanted Rocky Road mixed with Turtle mixed with Neapolitan.

Fantasies, we all have them, but Emma Rochester craved for hers to come true. She's been dreaming of Trent's Halloween party for over a year and she finally received her invite. Yet, now there's Jacob Hendricks, the quiet, mysterious man at work who keeps casting furtive glances her way. In order to have one, she has to give up on the other, but which should she choose.

Buy Links: Amazon

My Review:

Another fun and sexy read by Robbie Cox!  BEHIND THE MASK is a contemporary adult romance with sizzle.  Lots of sizzle.  And definitely on my “Adults Only” read list!

Emma gets annoyed with the new employee in her office, a man who can’t seem to keep his eyes off her throughout the day.  Not that Jacob Hendricks was really all that creepy and quite frankly, he was rather good looking.  It was just the staring that Emma found creepy.  And Emma had a firm policy to not get involved with co-workers.  So Emma would shift her thoughts to the upcoming Halloween party thrown by Trent Wilson, known for throwing the wildest sexiest parties in all Savannah.  It was a masked ball that allowed people to delve into their wildest fantasies without anyone knowing who they were.  And Emma had some pretty wild fantasies!

Yes, it’s easy to figure out how this one ends, but I have to say it was fun getting there anyway!  Add in a bit of mystery about Emma’s sister, Kelly, and her obsession with the occult and her deceased husband and I think we may have the workings of a sequel to BEHIND THE MASK.  That little bit of mystery about what Kelly had planned for Halloween night, the anniversary of her husband’s death, was not fully explained and I’m thinking there is much more to come.

Although the characters were not as fully developed as I normally prefer, it did not take away from the story.  Not exactly serious novel stuff, but if you’re looking for light reading that will entertain you… I mean REALLY entertain you… then this is a book you will enjoy.  BEHIND THE MASK goes on my “Sexy Halloween” read list!

            Q&A WITH Robbie cox

Behind the Mask is a spinoff from Come Halloween, a paranormal romance. Is this story also a paranormal romance?
It’s more of a companion story than a spinoff. It takes place during the same time frame as Come Halloween, giving us the events in Emma’s life and the buildup to the party she was so excited about. It’s not paranormal in anyway, although the coffee shop conversations happen in both books.

What attracted you to pull the story of Emma out of your previous book, Come Halloween?
Emma just seemed spunky. Plus she was so gung-ho about this Halloween party that I just needed to see if she had her fantasy come true.

Where do you most often find inspiration for the stories you write?
On Behind the Mask, the inspiration came from writing Come Halloween. However, most of my stories are based on the what-ifs I see happen around me. I look at people and try to figure out their story. In Come Halloween, I just loved the history and folklore of Savannah and really wanted to put a story of witches there.
What are you reading (or what was the last book you read)?
I’ve been working a story for the Sassy Ever After world of Milly Taiden, so I’ve been reading a lot of the books based in that world. Right now, I’m reading one by Gracen Miller called Kissing Sassy.
Are there any genres you haven’t written in yet that you’d like to explore someday?
I have ideas for stories in every genre. I am working on some mystery stories with unique detectives, which is turning out to be a lot of fun. Plus, I want to combine more genres, like paranormal with mystery or detective stories.
What are your favorite genres (or romance sub-genres) to read?
Fantasy is my go-to genre to read and I love Terry Brooks. He actually is the reason I started writing way back when. Other than that, any genre is great as long as the story is solid.
While writing in one genre, do you read in the same genre during that time?
I do. I can separate my reading and my writing pretty well, which is probably why I can write so many stories at once in so many genres.

#BookReview - Fangirls: The Collection (Boxed Set) by Robbie Cox

Title:  Fangirls: The Collection
Author:  Robbie Cox
Genre:  Contemporary Romance
Release Date:  March 14, 2017

About the Book:

Romance is more than just stories between the covers of a book, and many hope the tales spring from the pages and into their lives. For the readers gathered together in historic St. Augustine for the St. Augustine Authors Event their fantasies are about to come true. Some have visions of doing more than just getting a signature from their favorite author or cover model, while even authors arrive hoping for a little spontaneous adventure. Lives change during this weekend event as people take the fantasies, which have kept them warm at night, from the pages of their novels to bring the heat into their lives as well as their sheets.

Fangirls: The Collection brings together five stories from five different ladies and shares the relationships they are hoping turn out to be more than just fantasies.

My Review:

As a book review blogger, I have attended many book signings and author events, so I could really relate to a lot of what Robbie Cox mentioned in this series of short books... NOT that these author events are filled with affairs and wild sex!  No, no, no.  I'm just familiar with the meet & greets, fun and crazy cocktail parties and the way the rooms are set up before the signings.  The affairs and wild sex comes directly from the imagination of Robbie Cox (and wonderfully written I must add).

These five stories are all set during the same Author Event in St. Augustine, but each one focuses on a different Fangirl.  I must say that this was a delightful read on a Sunday afternoon and my husband caught me more than once with a silly grin on my face while I was reading.

Each story was fun to read on its own but even more delightful that they all were intertwined.  So entertaining!  We start off with Nikki looking for a place to get some work done, ending up at a coffee shop that was too crowded and the only available seat was at a table already occupied by a man.  She asks to sit down and she soon learns that he is an author.  And how things progress from there was definitely worth the read.

Then we have Lily (one of my favorite's from this set).  She was attending the Author Event only to assist her daughter, a published author, during the signing.  An added bonus and the real reason she offered to help is that she wants to meet one of her favorite authors.  Things get hot and heavy.  I loved this one!

Book #3 is about Cassie, Lily's daughter, and her... um... romantic endeavors.  Enough about that.  You'll have to read that one yourself.

Next we have Olivia, who is at the author event with her boyfriend Patrick, who is also the model on the cover of her books AND the fantasy of her readers.  Should they keep this illusion of him being available?

And finally we have Willow, super shy and introverted, who has stalked and fantasized about her favorite author for a long time but has been too afraid to talk to him... until Olivia helps her to get over her fears.

Like I said, this was a fun read.  At the time of this writing, the entire collection (boxed set) is available on Kindle Unlimited.  What could be better?
