Release Date:  March 4, 2014

About the Book:

How do you hide from a killer when he's in your mind?

Emily Monroe conceals her psychic gift from the world, but her abilities are much too strong to keep hidden from an equally gifted killer. A savvy private investigator, she discreetly uses her psychic prowess to solve cases. When the police ask her to assist on a new case, she soon learns the killer they seek is not only psychic, but is targeting her.
The killer wants more than to invade her mind; he wants her. Believing they are destined for each other, he uses his victims as conduits to communicate with her, and she hears their screams while they are tortured. She opens her mind to help the victims, but it gives him a portal that he uses to lure her to him. With the killer taking over her mind, she must somehow stop him before she becomes his next victim.

Conduit includes violence against women, graphic violence, and sexual violence. Reader discretion advised.

My Review:

This book has been out for three years today and I am amazed that I just now heard about it!

Wow!  This is one of those books that nightmares are made from.  I would give this book five stars from creep-factor alone!  The villain not only got into Private Investigator Emily Monroe's head, he got into mine as well... and it's going to take more than a couple of glasses of wine to get him out.

Emily Monroe is a psychic, which is a fact known only to those closest to her... like her best friend and business partner Cassie Reid and Cassie's uncle, Detective Lieutenant Lionel Edwards of the Wichita Police Department.  When a string of hideous murders develops, Uncle Lionel goes to Emily and Cassie for assistance.  He later regrets that decision... but I can't give any spoilers here.  You simply MUST read this to find out what happens.  Just remember what I said!  If you are prone to nightmares... BEWARE!

There was one spot in the book that made me literally yell out "NO!" when Emily started to do something that was so dangerous and what I thought at the time to be so utterly stupid that I wanted to throw the book across the room.  Of course I didn't because I simply HAD to know what happened.  Again, I can't give away spoilers, but when I got over my oh-no-why-are-you-doing-this quandary, I realized her motivation... but it still gave me shivers!

Angie Martin created well-defined characters... some you love and one that makes your spine shiver.  Yes, this book grabs you from the first few pages and it is oh-so-hard to put it down.

Wear gloves while reading if you are prone to chewing your nails.

ANGIE MARTIN:   **A portion of royalties on all my sales is donated to the Starfish Project**

I live in Calimesa, California with my husband, two cats, and beloved dog. I have two sons off paving their own way in the world. I grew up in Wichita, Kansas and have lived all over the United States. My entire life has revolved around imaginary worlds contained within the covers of a book. My aunt introduced me to Stephen King and a little book called Christine in eighth grade, and my life was never the same.

I currently have three published novels: "False Security" (romantic suspense), "Conduit" (an award-winning psychological thriller with a paranormal twist), and "The Boys Club" (award-winning suspense/thriller). I recently released a horror short story collection entitled "Shadows." I also have released a poetry collection and have contributed short stories to two anthologies: The Cat, the Crow, and the Cauldron and Eye of Fear. All royalties from Eye of Fear are donated to the National Alliance on Mental Illness (NAMI).

I am hard at work on many projects that I cannot wait to share with all of you!
