About the Book:

Full Length Contemporary Romance and New Adult Prequel by NYT Bestselling Author...

Nicola Hart grew up under the heels of her older brother and his sexy best friend, Cash Garrison. Years of ignoring her spark with Cash has transformed their friendship into a slow burning sizzle. One night with him could ruin everything. Or it could be more than she ever dreamed. They play. They flirt. But they haven't crossed the line because too much is at stake. Family. Friendship. And the deepest kind of love that she'd have to be crazy to walk away from.

HE CAN'T STAY AWAY FROM
She's his best friend's little sister. The definition of hands off. Cash has tried to ignore her for years. Those innocent eyes and her smile that screams kiss-me-if-you-dare... Instead, he's looked at every pretty little thing who's crossed his path, all to ignore the girl he seems destined to want. But when his hard partying ways get old and everyone at school is interested in Nicola, it's time to stake a claim. To make Nicola his girl, no matter the risks, and hold the hand of the one he really loves.

Sweet Girl is the novel-length prequel to bestselling standalone novel Garrison's Creed in the Titan series. Each book in the Titan series is a standalone with a happily ever after.

My Review:

Sigh.  I had such hopes for this book, but sadly... it just didn't cut it.  This was not much more than a series of frat parties and oversexed college students, with the exception of Nicola, the one sweet girl who was somewhat naive. Now, I have nothing against sex!  But the story here would probably appeal more to teenagers... except that the crude language and abundant sex would not be appropriate for teenagers to read.  There were some sweet romantic moments... as far as college student type sweet and romantic is concerned.  Lots of tingles and forbidden love and all that.

This is apparently a series.  And the story line may get better as the series continues.  There was some interesting drama toward the end that made the book more worthwhile.  But then it ended and the reader has to buy the next book in the series to see what happens.  As for me, I'll just pretend there is eventually a happily-ever-after and move on.

Here is my dilemma...  I listened to the audio version of this book and I can't even begin to tell you how many times I was confused as to who was talking, or IF they were talking, or IF they were just thinking to themselves.  It was weird.  Way too much head hopping.  Who's point of view was I listening to?  It made me dizzy.  Not sure if the printed book was as confusing, but the head hopping was definite.  Perhaps a better editor would have caught this.

Sorry I can't give this a higher rating.  I really wanted to like it more.
