My Review:

This was exactly the kind of story I was in the mood for!  Hot sexy cowboy... romance... lots of tingles.

Sarah Carter, a popular romance author writing under the pen name Mims Murphy, is still hurting from her divorce from her philandering ex-husband.  Upon meeting hot, hunky, extremely sexy, cowboy Sage Tanner, who is modeling for the cover of her upcoming new novel, she immediately pegs him as a "player" and wants nothing to do with him... no matter how hot and sexy he is.  The last thing she wants is to get involved with another man like her ex-husband and she makes that very clear to him.  Sage, on the other hand, is sick and tired of superficial women throwing themselves at him, and becomes intrigued with Sarah.

After signing up to spend several weeks at a dude ranch in order to do some research for her novel, the unsuspecting Sarah discovers that the dude ranch is actually owned by none other than the sexy, hot cowboy, Sage.

This was a fun contemporary romance that made me smile and provided so many of those "tingles" I love to get from a romance novel.  No heavy sex scenes, just lots and lots of tingles.  And the ending was so heart warming that my cheeks hurt from smiling so hard.  I absolutely LOVED it!

This was a quick read of only 149 pages.  Normally, I don't feel like that is enough to fully develop a story or the characters, unless you have an exceptional author.  Verna Clay is such an author... one who can pull you into the story and also create some amazingly wonderful characters... not just the main characters, but the supporting characters as well.

Thank you, Verna!

About the Author:

"2014 Gold Medal Winner: Readers' Favorite International Book Contest/Historical Romance for ABBY: MAIL ORDER BRIDE."

My perfect day: coffee shop; laptop; WiFi availability; java mocha; characters demanding their stories be told; a plot that comes together; and hours to live in an alternate reality.

Seriously, I have always loved reading, and now I love writing. As a preteen, I devoured Nancy Drew and Hardy Boys Mysteries, but when I reached my teen years the romance genre became my favorite, and that has never changed. After years of procrastinating, I tried my hand at writing and I've been doing so with a passion ever since. I have written over twenty-five romance novels and novellas in the genres of contemporary western, historical western, general contemporary, and fantasy. Because I hate saying goodbye to characters who have lived with me for months, I usually create a series so they can be revisited from book to book. I have also written a Young Adult novella titled "Fragile Hearts" using the pen name of Colleen Clay.
