About the Book:
Twenty-four-year-old Jen Reid had her life in good shape: an okay job, a tiny-cute Seattle apartment, and a great boyfriend almost ready to get serious. In a flash it all came apart. Single, unemployed, and holding an eviction notice, who has time to remember trying out for a reality show? Then the call comes, and Jen sees her chance to start over—by spending her summer on national TV.
Luckily The Fishbowl is all about puzzles and games, the kind of thing Jen would love even if she wasn’t desperate. The cast checks all the boxes: cheerful, quirky Birdie speaks in hashtags; vicious Ariana knows just how to pout for the cameras; and corn-fed “J-dawg” plays the cartoon villain of the house. Then there’s Justin, the green-eyed law student who always seems a breath away from kissing her. Is their attraction real, or a trick to get him closer to the $250,000 grand prize? Romance or showmance, suddenly Jen has a lot more to lose than a summer . . .

America's Next Reality Star was a quick read that had me smiling and outright laughing on more than one occasion.
Jennifer, a young woman who thought she had her life in order with a decent job, an apartment and a long term boyfriend (who she just knew would be proposing any day now), suddenly finds her life turned upside down with no job, an eviction notice on her apartment door, and the shocking discovery that Dominic had secretly been a married man throughout their relationship.
Jen's only salvation was the possibility of earning $250,000 on a reality TV show.
Okay, here's the thing.... I admit it... yes, I am a big fan of reality TV. I never miss an episode of Big Brother or Survivor. So this book was right on target for me. As I read, I felt like I was watching an entire season of Big Brother. Only this one was called Fish Bowl. It was cute with all the drama and showmances that you would normally see.
Laura Heffernan led her readers through the interesting process of how these TV shows work and during that process, she created some amazing characters. This was truly a fun book to read and I loved the ending!

This is on my summer TBR! Waiting for school to end so I can enjoy it and not "squeeze" it in with the chaos of 4th quarter, having a high school senior, and trying to close out the school year in a few weeks! Great review! I need some laughs! LOL
I think you'll enjoy this book. I have about 30 books I was supposed to read before this one, but after reading a sample I realized it was just the light hearted fun book I needed to read now.
