Book Review - WHY NOT TONIGHT by Susan Mallery

Title:  Why Not Tonight
Author:  Susan Mallery
Genre:  Contemporary Romance
Release Date:  September 18, 2018

About the Book:
Susan Mallery welcomes you to Happily Inc, where true love isn’t just for fairy tales…

Natalie Kaleta will do anything for the artists at her gallery, including risk life, limb and the effect of humidity on her naturally curly hair. Braving a downpour to check on reclusive Ronan Mitchell, Natalie gets stranded by a mudslide at his mountain home, where the brooding glass artist reveals his playful side, sending her inconvenient crush from under-the-radar to over-the-top.

After a secret tore apart his family and made him question his sense of self, Ronan fled his hometown for Happily Inc, but the sunny small town can’t fix his damaged heart. He won’t give in to his attraction for beautiful, perpetually cheerful Natalie. She’s untouched by darkness—or so he thinks.

Natalie knows that when a heart goes through the flame, it comes out stronger. Life may not be a fairy tale, but sometimes dreams do come true. Why not this one? Why not tonight?

My Review:

As I wipe the tears away that are streaming down my cheeks, I will do my best to put in print what I am feeling in my heart. Once again, Susan Mallery delivered a heartwarming (and sometimes heart-wrenching), emotion-packed novel of love conquering all with a bit of humor sprinkled in for good measure!

I must admit that I can't seem to get enough of these characters from Fool's Gold and Happily Inc.  Although each book can actually be read as stand-alones, we learn more and more about the wonderful characters Ms. Mallery has created by reading all of the books in these series. And they are such great characters! Fully developed and fascinating. I want to pack my bags right now and move to Happily Inc.

WHY NOT TONIGHT concentrates on Natalie and Ronan. They are both artistic and creative and yet they are so different that at first it's hard to imagine that they would ever be together. Ronan is sulky and withdrawn, pulling away from his family.  Natalie is curvy and wears glasses, but she is so upbeat, chatty and full of life, even though she has no family and is getting over being left at the alter by her previous boyfriend.  A rain storm, a mudslide and a mountain home puts the two together and even after the rain stops they find they are both much happier when together. And Ronan loves curvy ladies!

This story brings to heart the value of family, love, friendship and relationships.

About the Author:

Susan Mallery is the #1 New York Times bestselling author of books about the relationships that define women's lives—romance, friendship, family. With compassion and humor, Susan keenly observes how people think and feel, in stories that take readers on an emotional journey. Sometimes heartbreaking, often funny, and always uplifting, Susan's books have spent more than 200 weeks on the USA Today bestsellers list, thanks to her ever growing legions of fans.

Critics, too, have heaped praise on "the new queen of romantic fiction." (Walmart) Booklist says, "Romance novels don't get much better than Mallery's expert blend of emotional nuance, humor, and superb storytelling," and RT Book Reviews puts her "in a class by herself!"

Although Susan majored in Accounting, she never worked as an accountant because she was published straight out of college with two books the same month, January of 1992. Sixteen prolific years and seventy-four books later, she hit the New York Times bestsellers list for the first time with Accidentally Yours in 2008. She made many appearances in the Top 10 before (finally) hitting #1 in 2015 with Thrill Me, the twentieth book in her most popular series, the Fool's Gold romances, and the fourth of five books released that year.

Susan lives in Seattle with her husband, two ragdoll cats, and a tattletale toy poodle. Her heart for animals has led Susan to become an active supporter of the Seattle Humane Society. Animals play a big role in her books, as well, as she believes they're an integral component to a happy life. Visit Susan online at www.SusanMallery.com.
