Romance, Wine and Chocolate!

This was such a great event! What could be better than Romance, Wine and Chocolate!  I simply HAD to be there!

I got up very early Friday morning and drove from my home in the Keys to the Orlando area.  Around 6:00 that evening, after meeting up with my daughter-in-law Starla, we ventured on over to the Alafaya Branch of the Orange County Library. Doors opened at 6:15 and there was a crowd waiting to get in!
First thing as we walked through the door... a smiling greeting from a couple of the authors, and FREEBIES courtesy of Avon Romance! Okay, so now I'm really hooked. Wine, chocolate, fantastic romance authors AND a couple of free books! Yes! I was already super happy!

This was a well attended event that sold out within hours of the announcement that tickets were available. I'm so glad I was able to get tickets for Starla and myself. (Note to self: Be sure to watch for when tickets become available next year too!)

First, let me say that this was an extremely well organized and thought-out event with a wide variety of very nice wines, courtesy of Coopers Hawk Winery...
and beautifully crafted (and delicious) chocolates, courtesy of Chocolate Museum and Cafe.  And let me give a shout out to Lorelei of Lorelei's Lit Lair, who did an amazing job with author introductions and bringing this all together.

And speaking of the authors... OMG! They were GREAT! Sarah Andre, Valerie Bowman, Kerry Evelyn, Debra Fisk, Kristal Hollis, Barbara Longley, Madeline Martin, Judy McDonough, Priscilla Oliveras....

And none other than Kristan Higgins as the featured speaker!

It was so much fun listening to these ladies tell a bit about themselves and their writing!

Oh! And there were beautiful gift baskets we could win. Each attendee was given a ticket as we entered, and each author offered a beautiful gift basket filled with goodies if the number they picked matched yours.

Yes, I did go all fan girl! I love Kristan Higgins' books!
She gave a delightful talk that had everyone's full attention and later sat and chatted with us individually while signing her latest book... which I will soon be reading and posting my review!

Psst!  Don't tell hubby I bought more books.  He just doesn't understand my need to read.  (smile)
